my account had been banned in an attempt to make someone else go away. basically, the mods, in their infinate wisdom, had decided to ban a large number of ip addresses to hopefully maybe stop a person from spamming accounts, dispite the fact he could still create accounts afterward.

yeah, I thought someone hadn't that that one through either.
